Independent, locally run and rooted in this town. We have spent more than a decade on St Chad's Close doing one thing consistently: honest work on cars, explained the way we would want it explained to our own family.
Our story
Built on repeat customers, not adverts
Rochdale Motor Services started the way most good garages do, with a couple of ramps, a proper set of tools and a promise that people would be told the truth about their car. Word travelled. One MOT turned into the rest of the family's cars, then a neighbour's, then a local firm's whole van fleet.
We are still on the same site, still independent, and still doing the unglamorous thing that keeps a garage alive: getting the diagnosis right, quoting a fair price and finishing when we said we would.
Today the workshop handles MOT testing, repairs, diagnostics and four wheel alignment under one roof, so an MOT, the repairs it flags and a full geometry check can all be handled here, in one visit, without your car being farmed out to anybody else.

They are simple, and they are the reason a lot of our work comes from people who were sent here by someone they trust.
Price it first
You get the figure before the work, not after. If the job turns out to be different once we are into it, the phone rings before anything else happens.
Respect your time
Booked slots, realistic timings and a call the moment your car is ready. Your day should not have to revolve around ours.
Stay local
We live and work in Rochdale. You will see us in the same shops as you, which is a very good reason to do the job properly the first time.

A workshop on St Chad's Close
Servicing and repairs for local drivers, built almost entirely on recommendations from customers who were tired of being sold work they did not need.

Approval
Our own MOT testing station
Becoming a DVSA-approved Class 4 and Class 7 test centre meant customers could stop making two trips: test and repair now happen in the same building, often on the same day.

Everybody gets the same answer
No jargon, no eye-rolling, no assumptions
A lot of people arrive here having been talked down to somewhere else. Women drivers tell us this constantly, and so do first-time car owners, students and anyone who simply has not spent their weekends under a bonnet.
You will never get that here. Ask what a control arm does and you will get a straight answer. Ask to see the worn brake pad and someone will bring it to you. Ask whether it can wait until next month, and we will tell you honestly whether it can.
